From Museum Restoration to Witch Hunts - The Work of Friederike Koch-Heinrichs
She has been chairwoman of the Saxon Museum Association since last year and has been director of the Museum der Westlausitz in Kamenz for 24 years. A conversation with Friederike Koch-Heinrichs about the challenges facing museums in rural areas, realized visions and pitfalls in the renovation of museum buildings, cultural funding in times of tight budgets and educational gaps in the history of witch-hunting. Of course, MUTEC was also a topic of conversation - a trade fair that Ms. Koch-Heinrichs has been attending for a long time. MUTEC celebrates great success with new concept
It wasn't just the separate exhibition hall that catapulted MUTEC, the international trade fair for museum and exhibition technology, to a new level this year. With 122 exhibitors from 21 countries, the internationality of the trade fair increased significantly this year. The content of the specialist program also gained content. The MUTEC Award for outstanding exhibition design celebrated its successful premiere.

Museum technology of superlatives at Heritage Middle East in Abu Dhabi
A new cultural epicentre is currently being created in the Persian Gulf - billions are being invested to create a unique museum landscape with the Saadiyat Cultural District in Abu Dhabi. The Heritage Middle East trade fair, which is taking place for the second time at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center from 10 to 12 December, is an important part of the implementation of these major plans. Successful Partnership with the Leading European Trade Fair denkmal
denkmal is Europe's leading trade fair for conservation, restoration and old building renovation and was held at the same time as MUTEC. "By now, the regular participation by Saxon Museum Association's repeated participation and their further education seminar at MUTEC have almost become a beloved tradition for us. The MUTEC international trade fair for museum and exhibition technology and denkmal, the leading European trade fair taking place at the same time, were both extremely busy and welcomed 12,800 visitors from 32 countries. MUTEC's excellent development continued again this year and 122 exhibitors from 13 countries made for record participation.

"We've just experienced three intense days at the trade fair. You could really feel the enthusiasm of everyone there, every second of every day. Business relationships, expert discussions and personal meetings were the order of the day as MUTEC and denkmal impressively demonstrated how significant these trade fairs are as an international get-together for the entire industry", says a thrilled Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director at Leipziger Messe. This year, 473 exhibitors from 17 countries took part in the two trade fairs.

VerA President Matthias Kutsch: "Creating Great Exhibitions Together"
VerA is the Association of Exhibition Designers in Germany, uniting all those involved in creating exhibitions, from disciplines such as curation, architecture and scenography as well as texts, graphics and audiovisual media. VerA recently moved its offices to Leipzig, making MUTEC 2022 a home event for the association. The partnership was originally planned for MUTEC 2020, but as we all know the trade fair had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. Now we can finally go ahead with this promising cooperation. VerA - Association of Exhibition Designers in Germany relocates its headquarters to Leipzig
The Association of Exhibition Designers in Germany (VerA) recently relocated its headquarters from Berlin to Leipzig and announced a change in the management of the office. Last year the association wanted to present an exclusive program of lectures on the subject of “City museums in transition” at the MUTEC-Forum, but as is well known, the pandemic prevented MUTEC 2020 from being held. We warmly welcome the VerA to our beautiful city and look forward to future cooperation!

MUTECdigital: Online pitch on the subject of "Virtual Communication in Museums"
The possibilities for museums to convey knowledge to their visitors with digital solutions are becoming more and more diverse. Members of the Museum Association of the State of Brandenburg e.V. (MVB) and the State Association of Museums in Berlin e.V. (LMB) have the opportunity on June 23, 2021 to find out more about corresponding products from various providers in the MUTECdigital pitch and to enter into a virtual exchange. The online event, which consists of five-minute short presentations by the participating companies and a subsequent networking part, is organized by the MVB in cooperation with MUTEC.

denkmal and MUTEC 2020 will not take place
denkmal and MUTEC cannot take place this year. Due to the current and aggressive development of the corona pandemic, overall conditions for this year's edition of the trade fair are becoming increasingly difficult. Despite the approved and field-tested "Safe Expo" hygiene concept, Leipziger Messe, as the organiser, is unable to reliably stage the two events due to further legal restrictions.
