Vita

Steffi Kuthe, MA, studied art history and education at the Technical University of Berlin. Since 2024, she has been working on the MUT project run by the Schleswig-Holstein State Museums Foundation at Gottorf Castle, focusing on accessibility, inclusion, diversity and educational outreach. Prior to this, she headed the Education and Outreach department for over ten years and played a key role in the ‘Verbund Inklusion’ project, which aimed to embed inclusive cultural outreach in the state museums.

Lecture

Embedding inclusion in museums on a long-term basis. Lessons learnt and best practices from the Inclusion Network

Although there is a consensus that museums and exhibitions should be designed and realised with inclusivity in mind, putting this into practice remains a challenge. Generally speaking, all institutions face similar challenges. Over a period of four years, seven museums had the opportunity to work together on sustainable solutions for inclusive museum and exhibition design as part of a funded project. The results will be presented by representatives of the museums and subsequently discussed with the audience.
