German Museum Association Talk Series Prepared Together: Rethinking Museum Security Museums are public spaces for interaction, education and cultural memory. Yet it is precisely their openness that makes them vulnerable. In our four-part talk series, we will be discussing with experts from the museum and security sectors how museums can identify security risks at an early stage, develop effective preventive measures and remain capable of acting in an emergency. How much openness can security tolerate? How can preventative measures be implemented with limited resources? What does an emergency plan need to include? How can reliable networks be established? Who bears responsibility? And can security be embedded throughout the entire museum organisation? The talk series opens up new perspectives and provides practical insights for a holistic security strategy that combines prevention, cooperation and crisis management skills.
