Zane Grīnvalde

Vita

Zane Grīnvalde, Mg.Art., Mg.Hist., is the Director of the Madona Local History and Art Museum, Chair of the Board of the Latvian Museum Association, and a Member of the Executive Board of NEMO (Network of European Museum Organisations). She has more than 15 years of professional experience in the museum sector, with expertise in museum management, education, communication, research, and strategic development. Since 2017, she has served as Chair of the Board of the Latvian Museum Association, representing the interests of museums at both national and international levels and promoting sustainable development, professional cooperation, and the preservation of cultural heritage. Since 2020, she has been actively involved in national and international projects supporting the localization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in Latvian museums and other memory institutions, promoting sustainable and resilient museum practices. In recent years, in response to developments in the international security environment and drawing on Latvia's historical experience, she has also focused on strengthening the resilience and preparedness of museums for contemporary challenges, including museum emergency preparedness, and the protection of cultural heritage.
