Regina Klee studied restoration and conservation in Cologne and the protection of European cultural heritage in Frankfurt (Oder). She subsequently taught preventive conservation on the museology degree programme at HTWK Leipzig and served for several years as spokesperson for the Preventive Conservation Section of the Association of Restorers. Further career moves took her to the Forum Wissen at the Georg-August University of Göttingen and to the Collections Department at Dresden University of Technology, where she worked in the areas of risk analysis, collection preservation, loan arrangements and exhibition preparation. Since May 2026, she has been the advisor for restoration, conservation and emergency preparedness at the Baden-Württemberg State Office for Museums. A key focus of her work is the development and dissemination of measures and strategies that help museums prepare for potential incidents and protect their collections as effectively as possible in the event of an emergency.
