Short description

Our workshop offers a brief insight into video production and post-production using a smartphone.
In video journalism, the smartphone is a common tool. Interviews, reports and on-the-spot soundbites are already being produced using it. What can museums learn from this?
In our workshop, we’ll give you a concise introduction to producing your own content using a smartphone, a bit of technology and some know-how. We’ll discuss content formats, cover some technical aspects and explain the rules for production and post-production.

Description

In this workshop, you’ll gain a brief insight into video production and post-production using a smartphone.

In video journalism, the smartphone has long been a standard tool of the trade: interviews, short reports and on-the-spot soundbites are created using the ‘studio in your pocket’. Video is also becoming an increasingly important communication channel for museums. Whether on your own website, as a reel on Instagram or as a YouTube Short: moving images attract attention, engage the audience and open up new ways of approaching topics and target groups.

But how can you tell short or even longer stories using simple means? How can you structure, produce and edit a piece? What equipment is absolutely essential, and what can you do without when you’re just starting out?

Our workshop offers you a concise, accessible and practical introduction: using a smartphone, a little kit and some know-how, you’ll produce your own short videos. We’ll introduce content formats, demonstrate useful kit and explain the key rules for filming and post-production.
