Sound Traces in the Moment

3:15 PM - 4:00 PM Fri, 06 Nov

Short description

Sound Traces in the Moment are auditory scenographies that can be integrated both into new exhibitions and as a second layer within existing ones. ‘Sound Traces in the Moment’ weave exhibits, space and emotions together to create new narratives.
Auditory traces evoke memories and generate suspense. They draw attention to stories that were previously hidden. Sound Traces open up new perspectives and create spaces of resonance. They allow the exhibits, in all their ambiguity, to be experienced sensually and emotionally. A dialogue emerges between the exhibit and the audience, between the past and the present.
Technically, we offer a wide range of solutions, starting with simple iPods and smartphones and extending to tracking systems. Sound Traces in the Moment are suitable for every budget.

Description

Who created you, touched you, broke you? Where are your traces?

Through unexpected narratives, ‘Sound Traces in the Moment’ breathe life into exhibits, existing exhibitions, spaces and places. The aim is to uncover hidden meanings and previously untold stories, and to make them perceptible through the senses as auditory traces.

‘Sound Traces in the Moment’ are auditory scenographies that can be integrated both into new concepts and as a second layer within existing exhibitions. These sound interventions draw attention to previously unheard events from the past. They open up new perspectives on collections and exhibitions, on monuments, churches or towers. Through storytelling, they establish new connections between exhibits – even beyond the confines of the museum. They allow visitors to experience exhibits in all their ambiguity through the senses and on an emotional level, thereby setting them apart from conventional audio guides.

To explore the potential of ‘sound trails’, we offer an introductory workshop. Together with museums from various disciplines and staff from different departments, we develop possible ‘sound trails’ for selected objects. The workshop offers the opportunity to discover hidden narratives and to unearth them using new narrative forms. Initial ideas for implementation at your institution will emerge.
