MUTEC 2026 sold out: 150 exhibitors from 21 countries showcase solutions for the museums of the future
MUTEC 2026 is sold out: 150 exhibitors from 21 countries will showcase solutions in Leipzig for key areas of day-to-day museum work – from preservation and security to exhibition design, AI, VR and digital interpretation. The international participation is as diverse as the trade fair’s broad range of specialist topics.
Exhibitors from Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, China, Canada, Poland, France and the Netherlands, as well as from Germany, Japan, the USA and Finland, will be represented at MUTEC in Leipzig on 5 and 6 November. “The international composition of MUTEC reflects the diversity of the challenges museums are facing today. The range of approaches and solutions is just as diverse – and that is precisely what makes MUTEC a central platform for international knowledge exchange and the sharing of ideas,” says Constantin Strobel, Project Director of MUTEC.
An exhibition covering everything modern museums need
The range of exhibitors covers key areas of museum operations. A major focus is on preservation and security, including storage and shelving systems, display cases, climate control and monitoring, lighting, as well as conservation and collection care. MUTEC will also showcase digital solutions for collections and archives. In exhibition design, the spectrum ranges from scenography and exhibition systems to lighting, audio and media technology, as well as interactive and immersive applications. Another key focus is digital interpretation and the visitor experience. Apps, audio guides, VR and AR solutions, AI applications and digital experience worlds will be complemented by solutions for ticketing, access control, audience management and accessible interpretation.
The exhibition is rounded off by services in museum planning, consulting, research and other specialist fields. “Our aim is to reflect as many of the specific questions as possible that actually arise in day-to-day museum work,” Strobel explains. “Together with our partners, MUTEC brings together different areas of expertise, perspectives and approaches to finding solutions.” This gives trade visitors the opportunity to explore specific solutions, compare providers, discover new technologies and take away ideas and inspiration for their own projects.
