04/04/2024 MUTEC 2024: More Space for Innovation and Inspiration A new hall concept, a more compact time frame and the usual wide-ranging exhibition and conference programme – these features and much more ensure this year's MUTEC will once again be a highly valued, must-attend event for international experts in museum and exhibition technology. For the first time, an entire hall at Leipziger Messe is to be dedicated to MUTEC. The additional exhibition space will be used for a new demonstration area and as always, visitors can look forward to a wide-ranging exhibition of innovative products, solutions and services for museums, science centres, archives, libraries, theatres and other cultural institutions. In the lighting room, exhibitors will be providing information on lighting for museums and the stage. At the two forums, attendees can also benefit from various lectures, panel discussions and seminars. Continue reading

06/07/2023 Where Cultural Heritage Meets Technology: Newly Designed MUTEC from 2024 The MUTEC international trade fair for museum and exhibition technology is preparing for the future and has been redesigned for the next edition. To keep pace with the growth experienced at previous events and the speed of innovation in the industry, MUTEC will no longer share an exhibition hall with the European leading trade fair denkmal, but move into the neighbouring hall. Furthermore, the event will be shortened at the request of many participants from the industry. Instead of taking place from Thursday to Saturday, MUTEC is scheduled for Thursday and Friday (7 and 8 November 2024). As usual, this is at the same time as denkmal. Cultural heritage preservation and information remain at the heart of the trade fair, with exhibits ranging from exciting technologies and products to innovative concepts. Attendees can look forward to professional conversations with international experts. Continue reading

15/12/2022 Successful Partnership with the Leading European Trade Fair denkmal denkmal is Europe's leading trade fair for conservation, restoration and old building renovation and was held at the same time as MUTEC. At denkmal, 351 exhibitors from 12 countries presented their products and services covering every area of monument preservation and restoration. With more than 150 events, the conference programme once again upheld this trade fair's reputation as the industry's most significant platform for further education and training. Continue reading
15/12/2022 Strong Network of Partners and Comprehensive Conference Programme The participation of ICOM Deutschland and three museum associations helped MUTEC 2022 to become the largest get-together in the museum industry. "By now, the regular participation by Saxon Museum Association's repeated participation and their further education seminar at MUTEC have almost become a beloved tradition for us. We're very pleased with this constructive collaboration and especially thrilled that ICOM Deutschland and the museum associations of Thuringia and Brandenburg also took part in MUTEC for the first time", explains Mariella Riedel, Project Director of MUTEC and denkmal. 15/12/2022 New Exhibition Areas: Stage Technology and Equipment, MuseumMerch and Accessibility Three new exhibition areas celebrated their MUTEC premiere this year. The trade fair was extended to include companies operating in stage technology and equipment (in cooperation with the BHT Berliner Hochschule für Technik), museum merchandise (products and services for museum shops) and accessibility. 15/12/2022 MUTEC Celebrates a Strong Comeback After MUTEC had to be cancelled two years ago owing to the pandemic, its exhibitors, partners and visitors were pleased to see it make a hugely successful comeback from 24 to 26 November 2022. The MUTEC international trade fair for museum and exhibition technology and denkmal, the leading European trade fair taking place at the same time, were both extremely busy and welcomed 12,800 visitors from 32 countries. 30/11/2022 MUTEC and denkmal Celebrate a Strong Comeback After MUTEC and denkmal had to be cancelled two years ago owing to the pandemic, its exhibitors, partners and visitors were pleased to see this trade fair duo make a hugely successful comeback from 24 to 26 November 2022. The MUTEC international trade fair for museum and exhibition technology and denkmal, the leading European trade fair taking place at the same time, were both extremely busy and welcomed 12,800 visitors from 32 countries. "We've just experienced three intense days at the trade fair. You could really feel the enthusiasm of everyone there, every second of every day. Business relationships, expert discussions and personal meetings were the order of the day as MUTEC and denkmal impressively demonstrated how significant these trade fairs are as an international get-together for the entire industry", says a thrilled Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director at Leipziger Messe. The roll-off container for cultural property protection from the Cologne Emergency Association for Archives and Libraries (Kölner Notfallverbund) has proven to be a sustainable rescue system and will be transported to Leipzig in order to familiarise as many experts and interested laypersons as possible with how first aid can be carried out on damaged objects in the event of disasters in the future. 08/07/2021 VerA - Association of Exhibition Designers in Germany relocates its headquarters to Leipzig The Association of Exhibition Designers in Germany (VerA) recently relocated its headquarters from Berlin to Leipzig and announced a change in the management of the office. Last year the association wanted to present an exclusive program of lectures on the subject of “City museums in transition” at the MUTEC-Forum, but as is well known, the pandemic prevented MUTEC 2020 from being held. Members of the Museum Association of the State of Brandenburg e.V. (MVB) and the State Association of Museums in Berlin e.V. (LMB) have the opportunity on June 23, 2021 to find out more about corresponding products from various providers in the MUTECdigital pitch and to enter into a virtual exchange.
